The Real President II: Africa’s Last Line of Defence
After President Kamawu steps down, Delilah Mashidika steps up as the first female president of Lubanda, to continue to steer the vibrant African nation towards its future. Although initially reluctant to follow the charismatic and gifted Moses, Delilah becomes a formidable leader to battle her own personal struggles with illness and fight the regressive forces from inside and outside Lubanda. She works hard to continue to achieve the development milestones which have lifted many Lubandans out of poverty and face up to the country’s new role as a beacon of the African continent.
The Real President: Africa’s Last Line of Defence examines a possible future where good leadership and citizenship is allowed to flourish in the fictional African country of Lubanda and show how the struggles of one woman must endure to carry her country forward and bind the continent together.

Noah Kaindama first found his flair for writing when he won first prize in a poetry competition while at college. However, it wasn’t until thirty years later that he was inspired to publish his first novel.
Noah’s favourite genres to write are political fiction, poetry and narrative writing and he admires great writers such as Barrack Obama, Malcom Gladwell, Chinua Achebe and Charles Dickens.
His novel ‘The Real President’ tells the story of Moses Kamawu who decides to challenge an incumbent tyrant president who has run down the fictional country of Lubanda; a seemingly brave but dangerous mission. The book explores important issues such as the challenges of creating a true nation state and providing visionary leadership.
Inspiration for ‘The Real President’ came from Noah’s conversations with his children, who felt that many people of African descent were happy to complain about problems within Africa but not taking actions to change the status quo. It is Noah’s hope that his novel will inspire that change.
When it comes to writing, Noah is most productive in his study. However, he actually wrote the first draft chapter of ‘The Real President’ while waiting for a train! Now that he has retired from teaching, he spends his time writing and with his family.
